Anywhere in West Maui (Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua).

Lahaina has more of the "beach-town vibes" with lots to explore, along with wonderful beachfront shopping & dining. It is both relaxed and upscale, and a fantastic area to spend time.

Kapalua is more off the beaten path, and a much quieter area overall. Here you will be more immersed in the natural beauty of the island without the views of high-rise hotels and condos.

Kapalua is said to have some of the best beaches in the country.

We will be staying at the Sheraton in Kaanapali, which is also the location of the ceremony.

The are lots of other great options in Kaanapali that are just a short drive from our hotel and the scheduled activities.

We highly suggest that you have at least one rental car per party. 

Uber/Lyft are not as available and can be unreliable. Taxi's are available but can be expensive.

Uber/Lyft: ~$65 (+tip)

There is a case when a rental car isn't needed: when you're going to rent a motorcycle instead.

I highly encourage this, as there is no better way to experience Maui than on the bike. There's a motorcycle rental shop right in Kaanapali that I have used in the past and was very happy with. They rent motorcycles, scooters, dunebuggys, and other extreme vehicles.

All the above options are great ways to get around without a car, and in most cases, are less expensive.

If staying at a resort, check to see if they offer Airport Transportation

Once you and your luggage have made it to your hotel, go rent that bike and hit the road!

A passport is required to fly if you do not have the new "Real ID". That being said, TSA.gov states:

Due to circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Homeland Security has extended the REAL ID enforcement deadline. The new deadline for REAL ID enforcement is May 3, 2023. Read the announcement.

Beginning May 3, 2023, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States.

To be safe, and insure you are not rejected at the airport, please bring either a passport or Real ID.

A negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 is no longer required when arriving in the United States, as of 12.01 ET, June 12, 2022.

• The federal mask mandate has ended on April 18, and masks are no longer required in airports. Many airlines have also relaxed their mask rules and it’s now optional to wear on a plane.
• Hawaiʻi’s indoor mask mandate ended on March 25, 2022. Masks are still strongly recommended for people over age 65, those with compromised immune systems or who care for people at risk of severe illness, and those unvaccinated for COVID-19.
